About the book

It’s been years since Zoe Fairchild has been to the small Devon village of her birth, but the wounds she suffered there still ache. When she learns that her old friend and grandmother’s caretaker has gone missing, Zoe and her fifteen-year-old daughter return to England to help.

Zoe dreads seeing her estranged mother, who left when Zoe was seven to travel the world. As the four generations of women reunite, the emotional pain of the past is awakened. And to complicate matters further, Zoe must also confront the ex-boyfriend she betrayed many years before.

Anxieties spike when tragedy befalls another woman in the village. As the mystery turns more sinister, new grief melds with old betrayal. Now the four Fairchild women will be tested in ways they couldn’t imagine as they contend with dangers within and without, desperate to heal themselves and their relationships with each other.

My thoughts

Family Drama. We all have it. We may even have a little mystery in our lives, some more serious than others. In the end, family is family and we find a way to work through the emotional turmoil and come together, as turbulent and ardent as the road may be.

Zoe Fairchild hasn’t been back home for years, but when she finds out that her grandmothers caretaker and old friend goes missing, she and her daughter head back to the Devon village she grew up to help out. Emotions run high as she meets up with her estranged mother, as well as an ex-boyfriend she betrayed in the past. When tragedy strikes another woman in the village and the evidence turns more malevolent, this multigenerational gang of ladies must wade through high tensions and old wounds to attempt to heal the past, themselves, and each other.

Barbara O’Neal nails it again with her irresistible characters and her fluid writing, drawing us into another family drama that is unputdownable. Her ability to portray emotion on paper is as captivating as the narrative it revolves around.  The added mystery, danger, and intrigue give this family drama an extra thrill that makes this book the consuming read it is.  Already with over 600 ratings on Goodreads after only 2 weeks of publication, The Lost Girls of Devon lives up to the 4.5 stars it’s already achieved and I have to give it 5 stars myself. A very enjoyable, magnetizing and immersive read about betrayal, loss and love, The Lost Girls of Devon definitely needs to be your next beach read this summer.

I just would like to thank Barbara O’Neal ,TLC Book Tours and Lake Union Publishing for the gifted copy of this book for my unbiased and honest opinion for review.
