I Know Your Secret
by Ruth Heald
About the Book
You’re not who you say you are. Neither is she.
She thinks she knows me.
She believes my marriage is falling apart at the seams, that my husband can barely look me in the eyes. She thinks I’m desperate for a baby, that my longing for a family keeps me up at night. As much as I hate to admit it, all of this is true.
She thinks I listen to her advice, that I care about her opinion. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Because she has no idea who I am. She has no clue that I know everything.
I know her secret. I know that she did the unforgivable. I know how many lives she ruined.
I know exactly what she did. And I’m here for her.
An utterly gripping, addictive and shocking read about the dark secrets we’re ashamed to admit, and the lengths people go to for revenge. Fans of K.L. Slater, My Lovely Wife and The Wife Between Us will be racing through the pages, gasping at the twists, and reeling from the explosive ending of this unmissable page-turner.
‘WOW!… AMAZING!… There were so many twists and turns. You may think you have it all figured out, but guess again! I normally jump right into a new book, but I had to sit on this one and let it all soak in.’ Goodreads Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
‘Totally sucked into this story… Could not put it down… Grabs hold of you on page 1 and doesn’t let go until the last.’ Goodreads Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
‘WOW. Finished in less than a day, I couldn’t put it down. Gripping and twisty. I love the twists that make you say “ooooh” out loud! So, so good!’ Goodreads Reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ruth Heald. Best psychological thriller author out there, totally under-publicized and uncelebrated. There, that’s it, that is all I need to write.
Go buy her books, they are amazeballs.
Seriously though, I am a huge fan of Ruth Heald. I see her name and I come running, pushing and shoving to be first in line, cause this lady can WRITE. Her first novel THE MOTHERS MISTAKE, was so beyond brilliant I am still raving about it. So when I found out there was a book tour for I KNOW YOUR SECRET, I practically swam to the UK to get a spot on it, that’s how confident I am in her books.
Told in alternating perspectives between Beth and Danielle, you immediately know something fishy is going on with not ONE but BOTH of these ladies. With the short chapters flipping back and forth between each one’s point of view, it’s easy to become immediately engrossed in this novel that tells the tale of two women and their struggling relationships. As Beth and Danielle’s paths become further entwined, more and more is revealed about each one of their pasts, the both of them hiding secrets. But WHAT is the connection? Why is Danielle suddenly in Beth’s life? Who is the bad guy here? And what the heck happened? When you find out, I guarantee it was nothing you ever expected. Oh and it doesn’t just end there, not a chance.
And this is why I adore Ruth Heald. She has this remarkable ability to write a thriller that has you so utterly engrossed, and so invested in the characters, that when she hits you with this zinger of an ending, the shock of it is astounding. You NEVER saw it, no matter how engrossed you thought you were. I promise you that you will read this in one sitting/one day and if you haven’t already read her earlier works, you will be ordering them immediately. Ruth is at the top of her class with this genre, and all others should look to her for guidance. I highly recommend this book, which is hands down a 5 star read.. I cannot wait to see what she has coming up next. You better believe I will be at the head of the line for whatever it is.
