About the book:
No new people: that’s Annie Mercer’s vow. It’s bad enough that her boss sabotaged her chemistry career and her best friend tried to cure her with crystals. But after her fiancé, Jon, asks for space while he’s gallivanting around Paris, Annie decides she needs space too—from everyone.
Yet when Harper moves in next door, Annie can’t help but train a watchful eye on the glamorous but fragile young woman. And if keeping Harper safe requires teaming up with Mo, a maddeningly optimistic amateur detective, who is she to mind her own business?
Soon Annie has let not one but two new people into her life. Then Jon reappears—and he wants her to join him in France. She’s pretty sure letting anyone get close won’t end well. So she must decide: Is another shot at happiness worth the risk?
Don’t think that the irony of this book title and posting my review today for its #booktour was missed at all. Did you ever think you’d be experiencing anything like this? Yeah, me neither. So, I just found out today that my husbands 2 partners are now on quarantine and he is the only doc in the office now. How long til I’m messaging you all to tell you we have it? The countdown begins. (Shhhh… nobody tell this to my mother, she will totally freak out).
But all is not sad right now, especially on this day. As a matter of fact, today is my ONE YEAR INSTAGRAM BOOKSTAVERSARY! WooHoo happy day to me! I know none of you feel like celebrating with me, so I wont take it personal. But here’s another fun fact. Last year when I started my #bookstagram account one of the very first books I got from #netgalley and one of my first book posts was Camille Pagáns I’m Fine and Neither Are You. Is that not crazy spooky cool? (Don’t think I’ve missed the irony of the title of that book either). Now thats pretty awesome if you ask me. Kinda cool she has a new one out one year later, and I get to review it for a book tour. I’ve come a long way. Here are my thoughts:
So I thought THIS WON”T END WELL was a great read. It makes us think a lot about the choices we make and how we respond to our own feelings, in a very light and airy way. It made me think about friendships, old and new, and how important they are in your life. And it made me think about how much I follow my heart. Camille wrote about all these things in a cute, fun, enchanting book with a ton of character and a touch of humor. I knocked this one off in a day, and had a smile on my face when I finished. Oh, and there’s a dog…. Moppet.
His little cameos are enough to make you pick this one up alone!
If you are looking for a heartwarming, fast and charming read, I definitely recommend this one.
Sidebar, the company the main character works for makes Sanity Chemicals for hospital use to reduce infection and infection related complications in health care settings. UM?? IRONY – AGAIN NOTED.
Happy Reading People. Stay Home, Wash Your Hands, and for gods sake QUIT HOARDING TOILET PAPER!
I just would like to thank Camille Pagán, Suzanne Leopold of Suzy Approved Book Tours and (#partner) and Lake Union Publishing for the copy of this book for my unbiased and honest opinion for review.
