About the Book
Madison hasn’t visited Silver Falls since she left the snowy mountain winters behind for the beaches of California twenty years ago. In the midst of the annual Christmas festival, an accident forces her to return and manage her mom’s candy business at the Sugar Shop.
Grant hasn’t seen her since she left for college, but remembers spending summers at the lake with the skinny, plain girl he and everyone used to know as Sugar. The contemporary advertising executive he encounters now is anything but plain.
Will Grant’s kindness, the charm of Silver Falls, and the caring community open Sugar’s heart to all she’s been missing?
The Magic of the Season is a Christmas in Silver Falls Book 2 . It can be read as a stand alone novel and is just as delightful as ever, but reading the first book will give you a more “in depth” experience into the background behind the spirit behind Silver Falls.
Madison White had relocated to Santa Monica after college and has been living there for the past 20 years, but when her mother gets in an accident and needs her help to recover, Madison “Sugar” must return home to the snowy hills of Silver Falls to help her recuperate. Sugar soon finds herself deep into running her mothers candy shop during the busiest time of the year, and although a bit overwhelmed, she is quickly reminded of the love and support a small town and community can give especially during the holiday season. And maybe Sugar finds a little love of her own.
This is a wonderful heartwarming story with down home characters that you find extremely believable and quite realistic, it has all the charm and magic of the holidays that you are looking for tightly wrapped in this sweet little novella. The story is a very light and easy read, it moves quite fast and can be finished in one sitting. Sugar is a strong and resilient female and is easily likable and someone you definitely want to see succeed, both in the community and in love. Watching her remember what Christmas and hometown really means is enough to give you all the “Christmas feels” you need to get you into the holiday spirit.
This is a 4 star read for me. Thank you to Tammy L. Grace, Kate Rock Book Tours and Lone Mountain Press for my copy of this book for my honest and unbiased opinion.
